Inferno Type

This past week I’ve been bouncing between several things. I’ve commissioned three illustrations so far, and I’m guessing I will have to take on the remaining six. I’ve been working on branding (a type design) for the book covers and show display, and I have a few thumbnails for the overall cover design. I’ve also measured out and come up with a display concept for the show.

The display I have in mind will be a ‘floating’ wall panel that is back lit by red rope light. It will be black, and set against a wide black stripe painted on the wall. The panel will have a shelf to display the two newly bound books and the iPad with reading experience. This is a big change from my previous concept of having pedestals with spot lights. I may still try to incorporate the pedestals so that I make better use of the 3D space and not have just a flat display.

This coming week I want to try and solidify the branding typeface and cover design. After that I feel like I can contact my mentor for critique and order the binding supplies.
